about this client:

laura (22) is a bright, engaging, and active young lady with a fantastic sense of humour. she likes to giggle, and have playful and fun people around her, who are not afraid to be silly and make her laugh! laura enjoys drama and music. laura has an acquired brain injury, learning difficulties and diabetes insipidus. laura is a wheelchair user, using powered chair to get around. she is part of a busy and loving family, and she has two young siblings who she loves spending time with. laura loves being out and about. she enjoys eating in cafe's and restaurants, going to clubs and is part of a drama group.

overview of role:

this is a fantastic role for someone who likes to step up and combine hands on support with and team admin duties. you will be assisting laura with personal care, planning activities, implementing therapies and follow her care plan. as part of a team of support workers, part of your role will be to promote and develop laura's independence. laura likes taking short breaks in the uk with her carers including visits to the calvert trust where she has been able to take part in lots of outdoor activities. laura has a catheter and carers support her to manage her stoma. full training in stoma care and all other care practices will be given. part of your role will be organizing the rota, conducting supervisions and any admin tasks. up to 20 hours per week hands on support, including 3 hours for admin duties. these hours can be worked flexibly and agreed with the successful candidate. £14.00 gross per hour weekdays, £15.00 gross per hour weekends, £18.00 gross per hour for team admin duties.

shifts available term time: monday to friday 7.30am to 9..30 am, 3.00pm to 8.pm, sleeping night 9.00pm to 7.30am. weekends 7.30am to 8.00pm school holiday: 9.00am to 3.00pm, 3.00pm to 8.00pm, sleeping night 9.00pm to 7.30am

an energetic, fun, and outgoing, female* senior support worker with a great attitude, keen to learn, and happy to pitch in as and when needed. you will have strong understanding of acquired brain injury and be genuinely interested in supporting young people and promoting their independence. full driving license and previous experience in care are essential.
