Senior network support specialist - united states, janesville

adecco is working with a company in janesville, wi in hiring a direct hire senior network support specialist. 

this is an onsite, hourly position at $30/hr ($62,000/yr)

summary:

essential duties and responsibilities:

  • provide technical support for users both local and remote
  • research & document technical information related to troubleshooting and/or project implementation
  • maintain updated and accurate it asset inventory including hardware and software
  • create and provide end user training on various software & hardware systems
  • create and modify technical documentation
  • provide remote support to angi staff & 3rd parties when starting cng sites
  • maintain patch management system to ensure remote device firmware and software is up to date
  • coordinate with engineering or corporate teams to help support gvr & angi specific applications – windchill, cscape, rockwell, red lion and siemens software packages
  • utilize software tools to reduce workstation prep time and automate software distribution
  • provide coverage for network & server support as needed, will require working knowledge of windows & vmware operating systems
  • expand knowledge of vbs tools and participate in continuous improvement projects
  • troubleshoot network infrastructure including cabling, switches, routers & wifi access points
  • configure and maintain cloud-based storage solutions allowing remote equipment connectivity and data processing
  • select, examine and implement new software or hardware tools
  • deploy new hardware pre-configured for remote installation of complex network configurations
  • troubleshoot and assist in maintaining data routing and collection devices such as plcs, industrial routers, managed network switches, protocol converters and edge devices
  • troubleshoot and assist in maintaining remote data collection device programming (structured text, html, mqtt connectors, java)
  • modify and maintain exchange server entries for external customer notifications
  • ensuring secure and stable server connectivity and testing network protocols.
  • monitoring server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • running diagnostic tests and performing repairs, as well as developing backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.
  • training junior it staff, preparing user manuals, and providing remote or onsite technical support.
  • enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes and cabling layouts.
  • keeping informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure.
  • ensuring secure and stable server connectivity and testing network protocols.
  • identify processes or procedures that could be streamlined or enhanced with technology
  • assist with customer training classes for technology centered topics

  • exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • great organizational and time management skills.
  • willingness to visit client locations.
  • availability to perform network repairs outside of business hours.
