duties & responsibilities
purpose
this position serves as the lead tax resource for the ame region including, but not limited to, the company's angola, congo, cote d'ivoire, equatorial guinea, nigeria, egypt, oman, qatar, saudi arabia and uae operations. the tax manager is responsible for providing the necessary (1) tax planning support to the region and (2) tax compliance and provision support for local statutory financials and consolidated us parent company reporting. the job functions of this position will encompass approximately 50% planning and 50% tax/financial reporting compliance.
functions
tax research and planning functions include, but are not limited to: provides international tax advice regarding structuring of new business, projects, client and supplier agreements undertakes permanent establishment reviews and makes recommendations as needed assist with international restructuring planning and implementation assist with international acquisitions keep abreast of new legislation and developing best practices
financial reporting functions include, but are not limited to: ensure, record and advise on accounting for income and deferred taxes within operating jurisdictions identification and evaluation of corporate income tax uncertainties develop and comply with internal controls around tax reporting
tax compliance functions include, but are not limited to: ensure that the company is tax compliant within operating jurisdictions coordinate tax filings and information requests with 3 rd party service providers manage 3 rd party service providers with respect to timelines and fees facilitate resolution of tax audit exercises within the operational jurisdictions assists in preparing transfer pricing documentation, especially regarding intercompany transactions. support the functional group efforts around various indirect taxes such as vat, gst, payroll, etc.

qualifications
qualifications
required bachelor's degree (business, finance or accounting) extensive experience of corporate tax
desired qualified accountant (aca/acca) us tax and gaap knowledge working knowledge of peoplesoft experience working in a global and cross-functional environment
