african adventures organises life-changing trips for groups of schools, colleges, football clubs, charities and scouts to volunteer at the 25 schools we work with in ghana, kenya and zanzibar.
we’re a unique organisation that’s part tour operator and part development agency. we provide a comprehensive travel service to the volunteer groups that book with us, organising everything from their flights and accommodation to pre-departure support and the volunteer work they’ll carry out; all whilst working closely with our partner schools in africa to ensure that our volunteer programme delivers tangible support that helps build capacity and education outcomes for young people in africa.

this is an exciting opportunity to take on an interesting and challenging role at a unique company. it would suit a confident, friendly person driven by an interest in numbers and finance.
you’ll have at least two years’ experience in a similar role. you’ll be adept at building strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, and have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
core responsibilities:
responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping of company accounts and maintenance of upcoming payment schedules. create, issue, and process all company invoices. credit control management of overdue invoices. respond to group and volunteer enquiries regarding finance and invoicing. process payments for supplier invoices. responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping of our official charity, african adventures foundation financial administration of african adventures foundation (gift aid claims etc.) build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers. assist with general office administration (help with answering phones etc.)
