summary
•i am a 78-year-old man living with my wife in burgess hill. i am looking to employ a social support pa with a car to assist me to access my local and wider community and push me in my wheelchair.
• i really enjoy a friendly chat and social interaction as my mind is still sharp and alert. my mind rarely has the opportunity to be stimulated by interesting conversation these days.
• i may require assistance to take me to occasional medical appointments.
• applicants will need to have their own car and be willing to drive me and my folding wheelchair into town a mile or so away.
• mileage will be paid at 35p per mile.
• this could be a very rewarding role for the right person.

• we have one friendly cat. (only mentioned in case of allergies)
• if you are a smoker, you must be willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
description – typical duties
personal care:
occasional assistance required just to access the toilet.
assisting me in and out of my chair and your car.
social:
the following tasks will involve you driving me in your car, loading my folding wheelchair in and out of the car and pushing me around town in it.
• assisting me on shopping trips
• assisting me to access social and leisure activities
• assisting me to access medical appointments as required
• visits to the countryside.
• occasional visits further afield e.g. brighton
• visiting national trust properties and other similar places of interest.
• on bad weather days, assist me using my new computer (only basic skills required)
• i enjoy playing cards and chess

previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.
