fie: foundation for international education is an international educational organisation working in partnership with universities and colleges in the us to provide immersive study abroad programs for undergraduate students in london, dublin, and amman.

we are looking for an enthusiastic and organised administrator for a key administrative role supporting the academic and experiential education department. the role would be ideal for talented individuals looking to start or continue a career in higher education or international education administration.

duties:

fulfil internship-related student visa compliance (recording and monitoring student attendance and sponsor management duties). managing internship material submissions, including following up with students and universities regarding late or incomplete applications. ensuring databases are up-to-date and accurate. liaise with students, staff and employers to support delivery of fie’s academic operations inside and outside of the classroom. working with colleagues to prepare students for unpaid, credit-baring internship experience opportunities in the london area. liaising with faculty to submit academic syllabi, contingency plans etc. preparing informational spreadsheets and record keeping documents. creating and updating database information for placement sites and students. creating and organising student informational packets with details of internships. attending team, department and company-wide meetings and note-taking.
acting as office administrator, liaising with facilities and administrative departments for maintenance and supply needs.
planning and organising departmental events, such as faculty and employer evenings or student information fairs.
assisting in the development of administrative systems to ensure operational reliability and progression.
identifying, researching and liaising with organisations for potential placement opportunities.
general administrative duties within the academic and experiential education department such as assisting with attendance at off-site classes and tours, faculty hiring, collating syllabi and contingency plans.

about you:

enthusiastic and organised with the ability to prioritise a complex workload. friendly first point of contact for student or office queries, student application management etc. excellent administration skills with a high attention to detail. excellent communication skills; able to engage effectively across different stakeholders. confident and outgoing personality with a positive attitude. ability to learn quickly and take initiative. a strong command of written and spoken english and a high-quality telephone manner. excellent it skills with knowledge of ms office and databases.

qualifications/experience:

an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. previous personal experience of having studied and/or worked abroad is preferred. an understanding of the international education sector, and preferably with some knowledge of the us higher education system is desirable. experience working with international students is desirable.
