we are recruiting for an experienced operations manager to join our innovative engineering team. this role offers you a unique opportunity to drive and influence positive change across our growing operation.

about the role:

this brand-new position has been created due to significant company growth, so has genuine scope to make it your own. the company is a privately owned sme with a full order book and the ideal candidate will come from a technical background, with a hands-on approach and team management experience to help take the business to the next level.

you will:

be responsible for managing and motivating the operational team to ensure targets are met in line with the required h&s, quality, cost, delivery and people metrics to support all of the production processes. be a natural leader and ensure your team is well-directed as you guide them effectively via regular communication, training and development. contribute to strategy and direction as part of the senior leadership team to achieve the company vision and uphold our commitments to iso9001. engage with your teams in line with our culture and will have the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. be a confident decision maker with a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

skills and experience:

results orientated and capable of evaluating and acting upon core business targets of quality, cost and delivery. a broad experience of managing a variety of production activities, with multiple customer and supplier interfaces. competent at motivating and supporting teams of up to 30 staff to achieve business success. good understanding of problem-solving techniques and their application to resolve production quality issues and continuously improve operational performance. strong communication skills (both written and verbal) across all levels of the business. experience in managing hr and h&s procedures. highly computer literate.

working hours - a full time role that keeps a work life balance at the forefront:

this is a full-time role with a highly competitive salary of £50,000-£60,000, depending on experience. (full time hours in the business are 35 hours a week, not the standard 40 hours, allowing all our staff to have a good work life balance. the salary is based on 35 hours, there would be no need to pro-rata).
