working environment

working as part of a team at mayflower care home to assist the chef manager in the day-by-day kitchen tasks.

this role is ideal for a candidate who would like to progress further into their catering career.

the successful candidate will have access to professional qualifications and company competitions.

job description

in line with government legislation it is a requirement of the role for all colleagues aged 18 or over and working in care homes to be vaccinated against covid-19, unless they have a medical exemption. you will be asked to provide evidence that you have had a full course of the covid-19 vaccination, or declare that you have a medical exemption.

your key responsibilities as the sous chef will consist of:

- ensure full area of responsibility is clean, appropriately presented and stocked at all times

- ensure thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of menu and special offers in order to provide relevant information to customers and clients

- be responsible for smooth operation of relevant equipment reporting any maintenance issues in line with procedures

- ensure all complaint handling is dealt with professionally and in line with procedures

- ensure that coshh, food safety and health & safety regulations are adhered to and any incidents are reported in line with procedures

- ad-hoc duties to support the catering team and services

working pattern: 7.5 hours, 5 days out of 7, alternative weekends.

as part of your package, we are offering a salary of up to gbp11.00 per hour.

this role also comes with a workplace pension and 28 days of holiday pro-rata (including bank holidays). you can also purchase up to 5 additional days of annual leave.
