we’re offering a fantastic opportunity for a digital communications manager to join us at a really exciting time as we launch our new website. this role is a fixed term role to provide maternity cover until september 2023. experienced in improving digital performance across channels, we’re looking for a motivated person who can add their ideas and expertise to our dynamic team. this role can be based in either our leicester or london office. we currently have a hybrid working policy which requires employees to work in the office for 40% of their time.

our members are the lifeblood of our organisation and we are passionate about giving them an excellent experience. we want someone who can help influence the way we communicate and support our membership on their journey with us.

a focus of the role will be the management of content across our websites, ensuring consistency and quality, as well as finding creative ways to get our message across. a new feature of the role is providing the strategic digital vision for our flagship magazine the psychologist across all channels.

the digital communications manager will have oversight for website analytics - you’ll have a passion for digging into data to unearth the key insights that can drive up quality and performance.

you’ll also have experience of developing email automation and segmentation, ensuring our audiences receive the right communications at the right time.

the key responsibilities of this role are:

*oversee and manage all content published on the organisations website, ensuring consistency in terms of style, quality and tone of voice. take the lead in developing a project plan for how to manage a cycle of ongoing improvements and enhancements to web content post-launch of the new website

*working alongside the managing editor of our magazine, provide the strategic vision for editorial content across all digital channels, including web, email, app and social. develop ways to enhance online editorial content, using analytics to inform decisions.

*actively manage web traffic reporting, including kpis outlined in the digital communications strategy, sharing with colleagues/teams across the organisation. roll out the wider use of the monsido web governance tool and manage its use to drive up accessibility standards and web quality assurance.

*working with the head of digital communications, marketing manager and head of data and analytics, develop ways to further automate our email and sms communications, targeting segments of our audience with the right message at the right time.

*line-manage the digital content team (web editor and assistant web editor) and ensure they work effectively in their respective roles and have the right tools to carry out their duties.

to be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

*experience in user experience (ux) and user interface (ui) across digital platforms.

*experience in managing and leading more junior staff members and/or a team.

*broad experience across all digital communications channels, including social media, email, video.

*experience of working in a busy communications environment, ideally at national level.

*knowledge of content management systems, html, seo, google analytics or similar, email marketing systems and user experience software.
