job description summary:

to effectively direct the activities of the data management department, projects, and staff in a manner that ensures all functions, projects, and tasks are handled with the highest quality, on time and within budget.

to direct the day-to-day management of the data management department in a manner consistent with sop s, regulations and icon policies.

to ensure that the company objectives are met in the areas of customer satisfaction, quality, finance, resources and timelines.

interact with other functions within the organization to ensure that the functions within the data management operate efficiently and meet applicable regulatory requirements.

provide global business development support for data management.

job description:

• travel (approximately 20%) domestic and/or international

• direct the day to day activities and task management to ensure a focus on quality, budget and timelines.

• direct the effective management, development and appraisal of staff within data management.

• ensure all necessary training is provided to staff to improve their job performance and knowledge. ensure that the appropriate documentation of training is maintained.

• overview the planning, acquisition and implementation of systems to meet the biometric needs of the organization. in performing these tasks, particular emphasis is placed on the selection of cost effective technologies to meet corporate and industry requirements and goals.

• review and assess existing data management sops. develop and review new data management sops.

• while adhering to icon sops and appropriate regulations, ensure that the management of all projects in timely.

• review and monitor the preparation of the overall department budgets, by evaluating cost control, timelines and project quality status.

• provide direction to managers to ensure continual review of the project contracts is regularly done to ensure that out of scope work is identified, documented, communicated to the appropriate persons and managed promptly and efficiently.

• liaise with sponsors on project related matters where appropriate.

• keep senior management informed of departmental and project status in relation to resources, financial information, quality and timelines.

• liaise with other department s directors, managers and staff to improve the effectiveness of the organization.

• maintain confidentiality of management information.

• participate in business development activities including review of rfi, rfp, bid presentations, general capabilities, and bid defense meetings.

• liaise with global counterparts to ensure consistency across icon data management offices.
