Fortiss, llc is looking for a financial analyst to join our team! a financial analyst is responsible for performing various financial activities including budgeting, modeling, forecasting and reporting. this position requires a passion for problem solving, an advanced proficiency in excel and a high comfort level working with a data warehouse. he / she will be responsible for providing ongoing support for the monthly close process by maintaining and reconciling certain accruals, journals adjustments and generally assisting where needed. the overall goal of the financial analyst is helping to ensure that that the senior management team is receiving timely and accurate information in order to make operational business decisions.

1. assist with monthly financial close including je’s, variance analysis, accruals and reconciliations
2. ability to work with a data warehouse
3. analyze financial data, develop conclusions, and make recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues.
4. prepare timely and insightful analysis of financial balances and results to determine accuracy and compliance with
gaap and fortiss accounting policy.
5. prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports.
6. analyzes programs determining the effectiveness of efforts as measured by revenue generated compared to operating
costs.
7. conduct work requiring substantial independent judgement and devise new approaches to unique problems.

education & experience:
- bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 5+ years of experience in finance
- prior experience working with a data warehouse
- strong knowledge of accounting and gaap
- advanced knowledge of microsoft excel, databases and financial analytics
- able to produce financial reports.
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to clearly articulate policies and instructions
- proficient information seeking skills and drive for results
- ability to share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
- ability to work cooperatively with staff
- ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
