our client, a school based in alton, hampshire, provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities from all over the uk and overseas. their aim is to prepare these young people for adult life, giving them the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential.
they have an exciting opportunity for a chef to join this outstanding catering team. the main job role will be to provide wholesome food for the students using delicious fresh produce. you will also be jointly responsible for the organisation, preparation and cooking of meals to create dishes with modified textures for those with special diets.
the rota will include a combination of 7.00am - 15.00pm, 10.00am - 18.00pm and 11.45am - 19.45pm shifts during term time with no weekend working.
the successful chef will be qualified to city & guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or nvq/qcf professional cookery level 1 & 2 and have experience in a commercial catering environment. you will need to be able to work as part of a team and should possess excellent communication skills. it would be advantageous to have experience of complex diets, but training will be provided for this.

the salary for this role is up to gbp20,000 per annum.
