we are looking for a pro-active individual to join a department who are going through a period of growth, as a recycling operative. this is a unique opportunity to join a supportive team, to help increase recycling rates, and in turn we will provide training and an opportunity for growth.

as a recycling operative you will be required to assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of all sorting line operations under the direction of the sorting line supervisors/manager.

in this hands-on role, the successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive, and versatile approach to work with a no compromise attitude to health and safety.

you will have experience of a production process, preferably within waste management but this is not essential. a basic mechanical knowledge in maintaining a processing plant in an outdoor environment is advantageous.

training and development will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude to take on this challenging role.

key responsibilities of a recycling operative:hand-sorting waste material within the picking cabinsassisting in the power isolation of static plantoperating material balershand-sorting and grading metalscarrying out daily maintenance, cleaning, and inspections on allocated pieces of equipmentbasic data collection and recordingmaintaining the highest cleanliness of all working areasensuring that all plant is maintained in a clean condition. any defect affecting the safe working order of a machine is to be reported immediately.carrying out preventative maintenance and quality control checksremaining aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your health and safety and the health and safety of your work colleagues.carrying out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.we would welcome applications for this recycling operative role from candidates with the following skills: recycling, recycling operative, health & safety, production line, forth, lanark, fauldhouse, west lothian, sorting line, waste, hand sorting, grading metals, data collection, reporting, maintenance, qc, quality control checks, material balers.
