Installations manager - carpenter / joiner - united kingdom, mitcham, london

this award winning company have been established for 25 years and manufacture and install premium quality bespoke and high specification timber sash windows, casement windows, french doors, front doors and sliding / folding doors incorporating matching period moulding detailing.

they are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic bespoke timber windows and doors installations manager to join their team.

they offer a golden hello of up to £400 gross (before tax) payable once three months continuous work has been completed

this role would suit a candidate that has had experience in working with wood whether this as a joiner, in a joinery workshop, timber window installing or as an onsite carpenter with some man management experience.

you will need to be well motivated, have a good work ethic as well as being a good problem solver. the role requires a combination of good customer facing skills as well as technical and administrative skills and you would require a good eye for detail.

hours of work: 8am-4.30 pm, 5 days a week. 37.5 hours per week (excluding breaks)

they are based in mitcham cr4, so ideally, you would be south london based.

main responsibilities

- liaising with the production manager to ensure the windows/doors are produced matching the joinerysoft cad drawings and to the correct quality

- contact clients with confirmed installation dates and follow up with an email with detailed installation schedule including a summary of works the installers will carry out each day

- instruct where installers need to be for each of their jobs, work out what support that might be required

- order up scaffolding/arrange for the necessary access equipment required

- updating the daily workshop schedule and make sure the finishers list has an up-to-date priority list for each item being installed

- regular site visits throughout the installation to maintain discipline and quality on site and ensure windows are being fitted to correct standard. carry out the final checks just prior to the operatives finishing so any minor finishing touches can be attended to by your instructions so they deliver a perfectly finished job

- ordering of glass/double glazed units & installation associated sundries including: fixing foam, sealants, floor protection, screws, sash cord etc.

- make sure the installers vehicles are serviced and repaired as required

- organising of snagging/remedial repair works and re-glazing etc

- good it literacy (word and excel) to deal with 2d autocad and joinerysoft windows and doors design package (training may be provided)
