joining our supportive legal counsel team in this commercial contract role, you will join at a time of transformation. working across a range of complex commercial contracts, across it outsourcing, supply chain, construction, media buying through to research design & development (rdd) manufacturing arrangements. whilst this is a 12 month fixed term contract, we're keen to hear from you if you are looking for a permanent opportunity.
about the role
our global legal operations team is based in the uk and singapore, providing legal support in relation to dyson's global supplier relationships and manufacturing operations.you will become a trusted business partner through delivering commercially orientated, solution-driven legal advice on a range of long-term projects and ad-hoc requests to support a dynamic growing business.
you'll be based at our technology campus in malmesbury and form part of a dynamic, ambitious and welcoming legal team committed to enabling dyson's continued success. you will also be:
providing expert advice on commercial and contractual issues, helping the business navigate complex legal issues and resolve contract disputes with suppliers
drafting, negotiating and advising on the terms of complex commercial contracts with dyson's suppliers
building relationships with stakeholders in dyson's business, procurement, and the legal teams
collaborating as part of a cross-functional team to provide commercial and contractual legal support on important projects
helping to deliver relevant legal training programmes
maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant areas of law and contribute to the legal team's sharing of know-how, along with helping to maintain template documents and create appropriate guidance notes
about you
with significant experience of providing legal advice on commercial contracts and a solid grasp of contract law, you'll have around 3 years of post-qualification experience in a role focused on commercial contracts, obtained either in-house or in private practice. you will enjoy being a trusted business partner building relationships within a complex evolving organisation, along with:
a background in contract law and an ability to apply that knowledge in a pragmatic way
strong drafting skills and experience of leading the legal aspects of contract negotiations
commercial awareness and enthusiasm for actively contributing to business discussions
good communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
the ability to work autonomously, with limited supervision, in an exciting, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment
the confidence and gravitas to challenge decisions and actions when required
