the hospital liaison nurse is responsible for establishing a quality liaison service, developing inpatient and outpatient services for those with drug and alcohol related health needs, and working closely with a&e to provide early interventions.

this is a highly collaborative role, with responsibility for establishing a quality liaison service for clients. as well as providing care within hospital settings, the hospital liaison nurse also provides community detox in the home and educates health professionals within inpatient and community settings.

you will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and will have a drive to establish and maintain a quality service. you will act as the expert in the field, providing advice, information, and education to service users and professionals alike.

a key part of the role is to support audits, oversee action plans, and provide written reports and audits when requested, so your attention to detail and ability to maintain up to date records and care plans will be well developed.
