Ehs manager - united states, fayetteville (arkansas)

adecco has partnered with an industry-leading manufacturer to hire an environmental, health and safety (ehs) manager for their facility in batesville, ar.

the ehs manager oversees all aspects of the ehs department and is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and leading environmental and health/safety initiatives to ensure employee engagement and regulatory compliance across all business operations. they will also provide leadership and direction for the safety team and operations leaders to implement the company's ehs program and ensure a zero-harm culture.

responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • direct ehs department and all ehs activities within the manufacturing facility, including the safety team and all ehs program.
  • create and execute strategic plans and goals that achieve regulatory compliance and employee engagement.
  • develop and implement proactive safety processes to mitigate operational risks and achieve no-incident, zero-harm, culture.
  • champion continuous improvement efforts, ensuring ehs initiatives are value-added for employees, the facility, and corporation.
  • conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings, perform audits/assessments, and report ehs data and performance metrics.
  • monitor changes across local, state, federal regulations and develop/amend programs to ensure compliance.
  • maintain collaborative working relationships with internal customers, insurance providers, vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.

    job qualifications:

  • bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental, industrial engineering, engineering technology, or similar. master’s degree preferred.
  • one or more professional certifications (csp, cih, chmm, pe, ohst) preferred, or ability to obtain a professional certification within 3 years of hire.
  • 10+ years of ehs experience, leading and developing comprehensive programs with evidence of continuous improvement.
  • 5+ years of experience leading direct reports and managing ehs related projects and initiatives.
  • experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
