job overview:
screen prints various materials such as production and engineering printed circuit boards, microcircuit boards, or plastic and metal sheet parts. select, inspect, and set-up screens, screen printing machines, and bake ovens. perform most difficult and complex screen printing activities.
primary responsibilities:
-may screen print 1) printed circuit board parts with resist, solder mask and identity inks, 2) thick film circuits on hybrid substrates, or 3) logos and identity legends on sheet metal and plastics parts.
-work from printing and drawings; select and inspect screens and drawings to ensure accuracy, discuss discrepancies with appropriate staff member.
-set-up and adjust manual and automatic screen printing machines, hand screen tables and other screening equipment.
-mix and thin inks as required.
-set-up and adjust bake oven for proper time and temperature to dry and bake parts.
-perform necessary touch-up work.
-clean and store screens and supplies.
