as a product assembler/operator in the fluke microcircuits organization (fmo) team you will become responsible for performing several specialized assembly related tasks involved with manufacturing wire wound resistors, hybrid electronic assemblies and thin film resistors employing a photolithographic process in a class 1000 cleanroom facility.

job overview:

fmo product assembler/operators perform manual, and machine assisted assembly procedures to build and verify several types of sub-assemblies and components that are used primarily by internal customers who in turn assemble and sell sophisticated high quality precision test tools to various industries.

primary responsibilities:

  • perform spin coating, visual alignment and chemical plating and etching tasks in the manufacture of thin film resistors.  this includes using acids and bases so prior handling experience is preferred.
  • utilize high vacuum plasma equipment such as sputter machines and plasma etching ovens.
  • prepare, process, wind, clean, assemble, calibrate, test, solder and inspect various types of small assemblies.
  • work from prints, drawings, method sheets, diagrams, or other specifications in accordance with established assembly procedures.
  • set-up and operate production equipment to support production goals.
  • collect, analyze and report data from production processes, apply basic mathematical and statistical knowledge to collected data in order to monitor productivity and quality measures.
  • participate in fortive business system processes and activities as assigned.
  • working conditions:

  • position may require occasional heavy lifting (>50 lbs.) or movement of objects up to 40 lbs.
  • will involve exposure to chemicals, solvents, and solder smoke. safety glasses are required and will be supplied.
  • repetitive use of upper extremities, especially fine hand movements.
  • must be able to use a microscope extensively for assembly and inspection of some products.
  • work will require wearing a cleanroom smock, hair net, gloves and be performed in a cleanroom like environment with yellow lighting.
  • basic requirements:

  • must be able to read, speak and understand english to understand oral and written information, safety direction and other instructions.
  • must be able to match-up colors and be able to manipulate small pieces.
  • must have a solid understanding of basic mathematics, e.g. arithmetic, and the use of weights and measures, e.g. fluid ounces, inches, plus the ability to learn slightly more advanced applications like us to metric conversion and large/small number formatting.
  • experience with nickel, chemicals, and solvents.
  • prior cleanroom experience is preferred.
