retail sales assistant – marlborough

do you have a keen eye for spotting a retail trend? would you like to be part of a friendly and supportive retail team? we are looking for a sales assistant to be based across our two shops in marlborough.

at prospect hospice, we provide vital end of life care to patients living with a life limiting illness. we also support their families and loved ones through their difficult journeys. the care we provide makes an immeasurable difference and it is all totally free of charge to patients. but, as a local charity, we need to raise vital income to enable us to care for more people in our community. our shops are an important source of income, and that’s where this role comes in.

hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days per week, to include either a saturday or sunday. this may include working on a bank holiday)

what is the role?

you will play an active role in generating sales in the shops and take every opportunity to increase sales through stock rotation and processing. you will operate the till and make every effort to increase our gift aid income. you will also be required to cash up and use your excellent customer service skills to provide a friendly and welcoming service for customers and donors.

we will provide training, support, and opportunities for you to make a real difference and build your career. key to the role is that: you enjoy working with volunteers, you’re a team player and you have knowledge of fashion trends and are commercially aware.

previous retail experience would be useful but not essential. if you have an interest in retail and have high standards of customer service, we would love to hear from you.

about you:

confident, with good interpersonal skills, including customer service and relationship management able to work as part of a team and on your own, using initiative when required good it skills an interest/knowledge of fashion and trends in retail

it would also be great if you have:

access to transportation – you may be required to work additional hours/days and at locations other than our marlborough shop, as business needs require.

as the post-holder is required to be a key-holder, applicants must be over the age of 18.
