Logistics manager - united states, whitehouse

adecco is looking for a highly organized problem solver to take the role of logistics manager for our client located in lebanon, nj. the logistics manager will work in our client's fast-paced warehouse to help overhaul and maintain their supply chain infrastructure. the ideal candidate will have natural leadership skills and be comfortable managing a diverse set of responsibilities. the logistics manager needs to be capable of managing warehouse inventory, scheduling inbound and outbound deliveries, effectively assigning tasks to the logistics team, and maintaining business relationships with important clients and carriers. the optimal candidate for this role has a rich background in logistics.

requirements

  • bachelor’s degree (preferably in supply chain management or similar focus of study)
  • 5 years of professional logistics experience and 3 years of managerial experience
  • cltd, cscp, clp or similar certification (preferred)
  • strong organizational and business communication skills
  • experience in data analysis
  • extensive experience with wms
  • experience with transportation management systems (a plus)
  • responsibilities

  • day-to-day management of our warehouse management system
  • oversee all receiving/shipping and inbound/outbound logistics
  • setting up and maintaining schedules for inbound and outbound shipments
  • overseeing the importing and exporting process of a product
  • analyze and manage vendor performance metrics
  • managing the maintenance, preparation and routing of purchase orders
  • working with other departments in the organization to implement logistical improvements
  • facilitating business relationships with clients, product suppliers and carriers
  • discussing and negotiating shipping rates with carriers
  • communicating with transportation suppliers to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments
  • preparing accurate bills of lading and satisfying airbills in a timely manner
  • reviewing purchase orders and shipment contents before releasing them from the facilities
  • responding to customer inquiries
  • ensuring the quality of all processes and services within a facility
  • monitoring the transportation process from beginning to end to continually improve the movement of goods
  • responsible for all inventory management
