Plant laboratory assistant i - united states, durham

a plant laboratory assistant i role in durham, nc is now available through adecco medical and science. in this role, you will assist lead scientists to conduct leaf sampling, tissue culture and microbiology experiments. this is a minimum 6-month+ contract role starting immediately.

responsibilities

record experimental observations and laboratory details in a notebook.

cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining rooms, and equipment in laboratories.

assist with data collection and plant performance observations.

rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines from a sr. scientist.

you may be working on different/multiple projects based on the priorities of the supervising scientist.

qualifications (education, certifications and/or experience)

bs degree in plant science, biology, or microbiology field.

experience in plant biology (open to recent graduates).

basic skills: pcr, gel electrophoresis, molecular biology techniques, bacterial transformation and tissue culture are required.

demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations

ability to use ms office software and other databases efficiently.
