Engineering manager - united states, philadelphia

adecco has the pleasure of representing a fully integrated retail, food service and private label producer of fresh and processed meats company.

the engineering manager oversees the day to day operation of the division engineering function while ensures key projects and engineering duties are completed timely and within budget. this position also delegates responsibilities within a project and resolves any issues that arise. also, this is a plant engineering role which requires the successful candidate to spend a portion of their workday out on the processing floor to evaluate a number of potential engineering projects.

responsibilities

  • process development from general product and operational specifications
  • oversee a variety of engineering support positions within the indiana facilities
  • maintenance support for new and existing production systems
  • manage technical aspects of capital and mro projects
  • cost monitoring and oversight for capital projects
  • design of utility systems and connections associated with process line installations
  • design of process and production lines including overall layout with utility connections
  • lead engineering team by managing performance, reviews, and training
  • manage the design and execution of projects as well as the development, implement and improvement of engineering processes
  • ability complete full life cycle of engineering project management, from design, costing, vendor management, and installation
  • drive continuous improvement through productivity and quality measures
  • ability to work with key stakeholders on planning, communications, and execute projects
  • interface with local, state, and federal personnel as needed
  • qualifications

  • bachelor of science degree in mechanical, process, manufacturing, electrical, or civil engineering from a regionally accredited university
  • master's degree in engineering or related field a plus
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing engineering
  • ability to easily read and understand blueprints and specifications
  • knowledge of lean manufacturing or principles is a plus
  • experience in a food or beverage processing facility
  • ability to multi-task by overseeing several projects
  • highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter
  • must be a highly effective communicator, both written and oral
  • able to generate professional reports including presentations
  • knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
  • knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting practices
  • ability to work occasional weekends as needed
  • strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • knowledge of autocad, inventor, and visio
  • lead by example and follows company policies and ethical standards
  • proficient in ms office, including word, excel and powerpoint
  • ability to travel unrestricted both domestically and internationally
