our successful engineering client is looking for an experienced quality inspector. really interesting company and products. monday to friday

skills required:

used measuring hand tools such as vernier callipers, micrometers, bore gauges etc

ability to read engineering drawings and sector publications, produce accurate reports and have experience in the field of inspection or machining

the ability to cope with new demands and new problems to be solved

contribute towards continual improvement

willing to work outside core hours in order to complete tasks

ability to communicate with a range of different people, both verbal and written

a good understanding of microsoft programs such as excel, word & outlook

core duties / responsibilities:

approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials

approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor

approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests as well as final documentation; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work

documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database

provide support to the workshop and warehouse

liaising with customers and suppliers regarding non-conforming product and closing off corrective actions

producing accurate reports and maintaining the reporting database

carry out root cause analysis

processing purchase orders on suppliers for process work to be carried our

arranging despatch of product to suppliers
