family description and location

a wonderful british couple are looking for an exceptional domestic couple to look after their private estate in the cotswolds. the house is located 15 minutes from chipping norton and approximately a 30-minute drive from oxford and bicester. they have just finished building a brand new 11,000 sq. ft to the highest standard with all new mod cons with a state of the art ventilation system including ac throughout as well as av. the house is high tech but user friendly and training will be provided to use heating/lighting/ac etc. there are 13 acres of newly laid out gardens created to incorporate a wildflower meadow, lawns, kitchen garden, tennis court and swimming pool. they do have a landscape gardener on contract and also a swimming pool maintenance company and when required will hire additional cleaning staff and caterers when they entertain or have a large group of guests. there are no pets or children that live at the residence, but the couple will be residence for up to 4 months a year for up to 3 weeks at a time and will entertain friends and family during these stays. the couple are friendly and informal but would like the house to run to hotel standard when they are in there.

• housekeeping to a high standard

• all laundry and ironing (there is a state of the art utility room with several washing machines/dryers a rotary sheet press and a steam iron to keep laundry care at a very high level and for ease .

• a high standard of creative and healthy cooking and catering will be brought in when entertaining for larger groups.

• making up bedrooms to a high standard

• serving and hosting informal functions

• working with outside contractors that are engaged such as window cleaners contract gardeners etc.

• maintenance gardening including mowing and watering and all necessary high quality equipment is provided

• maintenance of the outside of the house including keeping all outdoor areas clean and tidy.

• provisioning for the house etc.

• airport runs and railway station runs and various errands.

candidate requirements

you will need to be an experienced domestic couple with very high standards in your work. self-starters with excellent communication skills and be able to organise your days as you will be workingfor 8 months of the year without the owners being in residence. at least one of you will need to be a driver (although its preferable that you both drive as you are located in the country) and have very good cooking skills , good gardening skills and good hosting skills. you will need to have good checkable references.

days of work, accommodation and salary

you will work a 40 your week monday – friday when the family are not in residence and may be required to work some weekends for the time that family are in the uk.

9am – 5pm (unless family are entertaining, and time will be given off in lieu – when family are not in residence)

your accommodation is a newly purpose-built luxury 1 bedroom the ‘coach house’ decorated to a very high standard. you have a large kitchen/sitting room/study, bathroom and large bedroom with king-size bed and french doors to private terrace which is separate and away from the main house. pets will be considered (not suitable for dependents)

range rover for use on duty.

£65-£75k dependent on skill set and experience.
