as part of our growth plan, we are looking to bring a number of services back in-house. therefore we are looking to appoint our first full time medical writer at innovative trials.
this position will require someone to be from our letchworth office 2 days per week.
job purpose
the medical writer role will apply their clinical knowledge, communication skills and creativity to accurately and effectively research, develop, create and present medical documentation (patient, site and hcp) and communication strategy development across multiple studies and projects. this position will support the delivery of patient recruitment solutions to innovative trials clients in line with internal and client sops and templates.
role responsibilities/requirements (but not limited to)
strong familiarity with principles of clinical research
develop a wide range of content including digital, print and video
ability to understand complex clinical protocols including schedule of assessments
create and share engaging promotional and educational content with the healthcare and patient communities
interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors (as needed) to develop high quality materials including documents, brochures and digital content
demonstrated ability to work both independently and in team environments with minimal supervision
comply with established company policies and procedures, and industry and regulatory guidelines
maintain broad awareness of developments in relevant therapeutic areas to ensure clinical relevance of written materials in specific project activities
bespoke research on patient recruitment interventions and therapeutic areas
suggest new ideas for projects to accomplish company goals
skills/education
a degree (2:1 or higher) in a life science (biological sciences, biomedical sciences or biochemistry, or a closely related subject) and a strong academic record; appropriate postgraduate qualifications will add to the strength of the application
at least 2 years experience as a medical writer in an agency environment would be preferred
proven influencing skills in a matrix environment
a strong work ethic and a solution-focused can do attitude combined with intellectual curiosity and creativity
a passion for medical communications and education
the ability to work effectively in teams in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment
experience of google suite packages would be desirable
