we have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced business development manager to join our team and help grow our business further. the role involves winning new business across yorkshire for parcelhub/whistl sites. working closely with our business development director, you will be responsible for lead generation, developing and maintaining a strong sales pipeline and ultimately closing new business opportunities, to help the business achieve its ambitious goals.

the business development manager will be reporting directly into the business development director, you will be working on your own and be responsible for the success of your sales area. the successful business development manager must be able to demonstrate commitment and drive on a daily basis and be able to work to ambitious and realistic targets.

this is an exciting and challenging position, one where you will have the opportunity to really 'make the role your own'. you'll be given the opportunity to assist in the creation of and help drive the sales strategy to position parcelhub/whistl as the leading fulfilment and contact centre service provider to multi-million-pound retail and ecommerce businesses in the uk.you will have a broad sales and communications skillset but have a strong b2b lead generation and sales background. you'll be creative, analytical and capable of working with multiple stakeholders from across the business.

achieve assigned activity goals and other defined targets within agreed budget for the territory or group of potential customers/accounts as agreed with the bdd to meet the wider requirements of the businessdevelop processes and strategies to drive sales and deliver excellent levels of customer service, focusing on a solution based, technical sell and long-term strategic partnerships with customersprepare, agree and execute sales strategies and business expansion plans to support profitable annual revenue growthgenerate leads and follow up on leads received from other sources, internal or external. serve as key point of contact for identified prospective customerspromote and sell all parcelhub products to potential customerscoordinate the tender process for potential new clients working closely with the tender manager. assist the tender team in the preparation of client proposalsmake formal tender presentations in order to secure new business winsconfirm new customer start dates and service specifications with operations and ensure contractually agreed service standards are providedresolve non-standard queries, escalating as requiredidentify and evaluate growth opportunities in the marketplace and discuss these with all relevant stakeholdersensure correct information/data is provided for billing purposes and facilitate prompt payment by customers once invoicedliaise with all necessary internal colleagues to optimise service quality and customer satisfactionprovide accurate and timely internal and external reports as requested by the customer, both regular and ad-hocensure a seamless handover of clients to the identified sales colleagues, when appropriatewe welcome applications for this business development manager role with the following experience: bdm, b2b, sales, management, leadership, project management, presentation, reporting, targets, crm, new business, lead generation, events, bid management, tenders, contact centre, customer service, analytical, networking, communication, adobe photoshop, indesign, illustrator.

the business development manager will have the following:

ability to understand and articulate customer needs and requirementseffective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to adapt communication style, amount and format based upon the audienceability to conduct face to face presentations with prospective customersability to prioritise and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlinesstrong analytical and numeracy skills, including ability to analyse data, draw relevant conclusions and make recommendations to customersfrequent domestic travel requiring full, valid uk driving licensefluency in software operating systems, such as ms office and customer relationship management systemsdesirable skills
