Web developer - united kingdom, shrewsbury, shropshire

we are on the hunt for a diligent, reactive and motivated web developer to join our digital team. working remote is an option, however initially we would like you to work 3 days in the office / 2 days home so we can get to know you.

based in the beautiful market town of shrewsbury, established in 1991, we are a highly successful, full service, communications agency providing brand, web and digital marketing expertise to businesses throughout shropshire and the uk.

our team is made up of passionate creatives, developers and marketers working on a range of b2b and b2c accounts covering an interesting and wide spectrum of industries.

your responsibilities will include the development of client websites and applications, as well as the ongoing support and maintenance of existing sites across a variety of platforms.

you will also need to be able to work alongside our existing development & creative teams and account managers, and be able to understand and scope out technical specifications and estimate build times.

development will include new builds from a brief, as well as ongoing development and support of existing sites (eg amending php scripts), investigating reported website issues working alongside other members of the team to identify and implement solutions and liaising with clients and other third parties, as required. supporting our clients is key. you will be expected to assist with monitoring and maintaining of hosting and email facilities, using control panels and unix command-lines where appropriate and liaising with datacenter managers where required.

the specific development skills that we are looking for are:

- experience with php development - you can write code that is secure, modern and easy to maintain and understand

- experience integrating with third party software such as property portals, recruitment hubs etc, where required

- experience with wordpress development, plugin integration and woocommerce

- good working knowledge of mysql

- experience with html, css and js
