summary: responsible for setting up and operating cnc machines.

 

duties and responsibilities include the following.  other duties may be assigned.

 

  • basic cnc milling & lathe experience for fanuc control machining center.  read and amend g-code programs where required.
  • edit, set-up and operate cnc lathes or mills.
  • experience with twin spindle lathes preferred.
  • cam experience a plus.
  • read and interpret engineering drawings and other documentation, setting and manufacture to achieve a right first time product.
  • strong problem-solving skills with good practical application.
  • highly motivated to improve productivity without compromise on quality.
  • maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
  • good communication, operational and organizational skills.
  • optimize and improve the productivity and cost efficiency of repeat jobs.
  • trouble-shoot production, process or mechanical problems on the floor.
  • be well presented with a positive, proactive and professional approach.
  • perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • experienced in use of the standard measuring systems and methodologies.
  • ability to work with own initiative.
  • comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • perform first article and in-process inspections.
  • fill out inspection records with accuracy.
  • perform other duties as assigned.

    education/experience:

  • keep personal work area and machine shop clean.
  • perform operator maintenance on machines and support equipment.
  • pack finished work for movement out of the shop.
