summary: responsible for setting up and operating cnc machines.

 

duties and responsibilities include the following.  other duties may be assigned.

 

basic cnc milling & lathe experience for fanuc control machining center.  read and amend g-code programs where required.

edit, set-up and operate cnc lathes or mills.

experience with twin spindle lathes preferred.

cam experience a plus.

read and interpret engineering drawings and other documentation, setting and manufacture to achieve a right first time product.

strong problem-solving skills with good practical application.

highly motivated to improve productivity without compromise on quality.

maintain a high standard of housekeeping.

good communication, operational and organizational skills.

optimize and improve the productivity and cost efficiency of repeat jobs.

trouble-shoot production, process or mechanical problems on the floor.

be well presented with a positive, proactive and professional approach.

perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

experienced in use of the standard measuring systems and methodologies.

ability to work with own initiative.

comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

perform first article and in-process inspections.

fill out inspection records with accuracy.

keep personal work area and machine shop clean.

perform operator maintenance on machines and support equipment.

pack finished work for movement out of the shop.

assist with incoming material or supply deliveries.
