Construction labourer - united kingdom, tooting bec, london

i.n & co developments is looking for a general construction labourer to join us on a summer long renovation project in tooting, south london.

the ideal candidate should have some experience as a labourer in the construction industry with basic knowledge of building materials and knows how to operate power tools.

duties will include:


assisting in preparing working areas



assisting in laying new laminate and vinyl flooring including underlay



assisting with repairing, filling and sanding interior & exterior walls for painting



assisting with prepping and painting internal wood trims such as skirtings, doors &

architraves



assisting with tiling and mixing adhesive



assisting with installing new bathrooms and kitchen cabinets



assisting with building new stud walls and plaster boarding



assembling flat pack furniture



loading & unloading construction materials



performing site clean-ups when necessary



following instructions from supervisors



helping other members when necessary



requirements:


some experience as a general labourer in the construction industry



basic knowledge of building materials



attention to detail and good finishing standards



good knowledge of operating power tools



a good level of physical fitness and strength



ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks



being able to work at heights



ability to work in all weather



basic numeracy and literacy skills



awareness of health and safety on site



being able to follow verbal and written instructions



ready to learn on-the-job and training when necessary



must be punctual and reliable



must be able to work in a team



be at least 18 years of age
