at tqr plymouth we re currently supporting a large recruitment project for one of devon s highest profile employers, a world class engineering and manufacturing business that s looking for a number of quality engineers. the creation of these new jobs forms part of a restructure that will drive continued improvement in quality, efficiency and cost control, with the ultimate aim of delivering an exceptional product to the end customer.
we want to speak with experienced quality engineers who have worked in complex manufacturing environments; people with a desire to make a positive contribution in an ambitious business.
what you ll be doing
in your new role you ll be working within a specific production area and assume responsibility for driving quality improvements, ensuring product and process compliance in line with the standardised operating procedures. your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
preparation and validation of product control plans
collate data from all business sensors and feedback to relevant personnel and lead problem solving activities.
carry out non-conformance review and confirm adherence to processes, standards and specifications.
organise and leads line quality meetings.
responsible for stage to stage process audit & sign off with manager.
technical support & coaching
organise production system checks and the implementation of customer protection activities.
support the confirmation of problem existence for the purpose of qi raising.
verifying rework of audit findings and feeding back areas of improvement to production leadership team.
what experience and qualifications are we looking for
experience in a similar role is essential; you ll have a cv that demonstrates a sound knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes and a track record of driving continuous improvement in the areas of quality and efficiency.
you ll have already gained experience in a fast paced manufacturing/engineering business and be able to demonstrate where you ve added value.
ideally you ll have strong project management experience and be able to lead others in the delivery of project goals. you ll have an analytical mind that can identify and resolve problems, being proactive in the delivery of solutions that prevent repeat occurrence.
experience/knowledge in the following areas a distinct advantage:
ppap/apqp
iso 9001 quality management systems
lean techniques
qualified internal auditor
you ll be a natural communicator, able to assert your influence positively to ensure any process changes are adopted and embraced.
