Laboratory assistant i - united states, durham

a laboratory assistant i role in durham, nc is now available through adecco medical and science. in this role, we are looking for someone to assist lead scientists to conduct biological experiments, and other tasks as necessary in a biological laboratory environment. may work on different projects based on the needs. this is an entry level, minimum 6-month+ contract role starting in august 2022.

duties and responsibilities

responsibilities include culturing insects for study with new crop technologies and providing support to a team of people rearing insects to study.

responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment.

recording observations, measurements, and experimental results.

assists with receipt and inspection of plant materials and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.

relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

qualifications (education, certifications and/or experience)

no special degree required as long as long as you have experience working in a biological laboratory.

performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment.

records observations and measurements and reports results.

you must be comfortable working with insects.

experience such as working in an insectary, studying insect-plant interactions, conducting any form of cell culture are a plus but not required.
