this is an integral role in supporting production activities and will involve using a range of polishing, lapping, measuring and inspection tools.

the successful candidate will carry out key processes for our manufacturing and post production operations; the role will require the successful applicant to divide their time between both areas as required to meet operational needs

duties and tasks
delivering work safely and to a standard that ensures the health and safety of others.
undertaking work in the following areas: pre-synthesis (preparation of substrates) and processing (lapping, polishing, quality control checks) as well any other ad-hoc requirements as requested
using lappers, polishing tools and a precise measurement tools to ensure products are finished to the specification required
cleaning used substrates using grit blasters and other methods
responsible for ensuring the substrate preparation lab is kept to a high standard (by maintaining equipment and work area neatness & cleanliness) and that materials and consumables are stocked as required
ensuring equipment is properly setup and operated according to guidelines.
working closely with synthesis engineer to adjust the process and finish to maximise product yields and successful synthesis runs.
working as an integral member of the production team to ensure promise adherence of delivery to customer.

qualifications:
aptitude and willingness to learn our processes and procedures; the successful applicant is required to work to very precise and exacting standards.
the ideal applicant will have machining or lapping/polishing skills or have demonstrated competence in an artisan trade
a diligent worker with a keen eye for detail and right first-time approach.
must be able to multi-task; a flexible approach is critical to successfully deliver in this role.
good interpersonal and communication skills.
able to work both independently and as part of a team.
computer literacy to use qc tools/equipment and perform data acquisition.
