P a carer for our son - united kingdom, gosport, hampshire
we are looking for a p a carer to work with loving parents of a young man has duchenne muscular dystrophy. he is 26 with a dry sense humour, loves animals, watching films and television. totally immobile, he uses an electric wheelchair to get around and needs to be hoisted to and from bed. getting him dressed and undressed on his bed will require assisting with patient handling. he uses a ventilator to support his breathing and has equipment to help clear secretions from his mouth. training in the use if all equipment will be given and you will be supervised by one parent throughout. a 2 week schedule of 27 hours week one and 25 us as follows:
week 1- mon 5pm to 9pm, wed 5 to 9pm, thurs 5pm to 9pm, sat 10am to 4-30pm, sun 11am to 4-30pm
week 2- wed 5pm to 9pm, thurs 5 to 9-30pm,fri 5 to 9-30pm,sat 5pm to 9pm, sun 5pm to9pm
pension- you will automatically be enrolled into a pension scheme , but you can opt
you will be welcome to eat with us when you are working
