are you looking to put your maintenance skills to use at your local rspca animal rescue centre?

we’re looking for a maintenance person to join us at gonsal farm animal centre to oversee maintenance of buildings, fixtures and fittings, equipment and grounds. you will be a critical and crucial member of the team!

this role is fundamental to the health and safety of staff, visitors and animals in our care. we’re looking for a cheery, proactive person who is able to effectively plan their daily workload, someone who enjoys conversation and naturally builds rapport with those around them.

our gonsal farm animal centre opened its doors to the public in 2002. since it opened we have rescued, cared for and homed thousands of animals with a lot of our work including rehabilitation, so by joining us you’ll be helping make a real difference.

here’s a snapshot of some of the key work you’ll be doing:

communicating with internal and external contractors and colleagues - a true people person!
routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds and animal accommodation - in essence general maintenance person duties
troubleshooting of machinery/equipment/facilities failure - the ability to think on your feet will set you up for success!
h&s knowledge with regular site inspections checks

what we are looking for in you:

a full driving licence
proven experience in a maintenance or grounds role
experience of supervising contractors
experience of a wide range of power tools, ride on mowers and other land management equipment
desirable (not essential); a qualification or higher in plumbing or electrical engineering eg. city and guilds level 2 or higher or equivalent
it goes without saying you must enjoy being around animals!
