general summary:

we are seeking a highly effective supply chain professional to lead our semiconductor component suppliers. the role will work directly with various multi-functional partners across the company such as r&d, product management, and operations to help lead semiconductor category management improvement initiatives to achieve the best-in-class electronic component management strategy for our company. this successful candidate will foster continuous development of suppliers, participate in design reviews with r&d, recommend supplier selection, support platform cycle management, monitor supply assurance, drive cost reductions and lead supplier relationships. in addition, this individual will support and mentor the regional site level procurement team members to ensure consistency in strategy execution and commitments to procurement goals.responsibilities & results:
  • develop and communicate electronic component integration strategies with different semiconductor technologies across our product platforms.
  • support internal r&d design efforts by providing supplier selection recommendations.
  • collaborate with engineering to propose value engineering solutions.
  • ensure component availability and be a key point for critical issues with suppliers when deliveries don’t meet customer expectations.
  • categorize the required vendor selections and implement long term agreements.
  • recommend alternatives component solutions and assist with component management selection process.
  • deliver annual component cost savings.
  • lead component strategy development, execution, and communication with key ems providers, oem’s and distributors.
  • lead and implement component sourcing workshops to achieve annual improvements in material cost savings, supplier quality, delivery and working capital efficiency.
  • detailed understanding of supply & demand factors relevant to component categories.
  • consistent utilization of cost and market analysis to ensure efficient sourcing decisions.
  • gather and analyze supplier performance evaluation ratings and recommend performance improvement priorities.
  • lead supplier quarterly / annual business reviews
  • technical proficiencies:
  • demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes for semiconductor components such as fpga’s, ac/dc switching regulators, analog embedded controllers and converters, power switches, voltage references, etc.
  • comfortable in analyzing semiconductor market trends in order to communicate the corresponding strategy implications.
  • requirements:
  • 8 + years of supply chain, engineering or r&d experience within manufacturing industry.
  • minimum of 5 years of people management experience.
  • must be largely self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of semiconductor oem, ems and distribution industry processes.
  • proven experience at influencing and driving results with large semiconductor suppliers.
  • good communication and influencing skills.
  • ability to travel (up to 35%) domestically and internationally.
  • education
  • bachelor’s degree in supply chain or relevant engineering subject area.

    working hours: the typical working hours will reflect the global scope of this role with frequent communications and meetings across multiple geographic regions (primarily asia pacific, americas, and europe). the individual will frequently maintain a nontraditional workday.
