junior people advisor

we are a fast-paced and energetic business. we provide vital customer service and support to over 10,000 properties across the uk through cloud-based software. due to continued success and growth we are looking for a junior people advisor to be based at st ives, cambridgshire to support the business.

as a junior people advisor you will play a crucial role within the business, acting as a key point of contact for employees and managers, by providing a comprehensive generalist hr resource.

key activities

as junior people advisor, you will be a first point of contact for all employees to answer queries in relation to their employment. you will advise and support managers with grievances, disciplinaries, absence management and performance management cases on site.
you will be responsible for coaching managers with hr procedures, holding regular 1-1 sessions.
you will actively monitor, and together with the relevant manager, manage all absence cases making referrals to occupational health as required – and instigating formal proceedings where necessary.
you will support the people partner with any site reorganisations or department restructures as required.
you will build and maintain strong productive relationships with managers.
process all current starters and leavers, with the support of the payroll and systems administrator.
with the support of the payroll and systems administrator, ensuring data integrity across our internal systems: youmanage, blink, expense portal, smarthive.
you will work closely with the talent partner to identify development needs and support the delivery of training as required.
to assist the talent partner in driving the pdr process.
providing full support to management on hr policies and processes that deliver the entire employees lifecycle.
to support and prepare for any audits.
responsible for drafting all change of terms and conditions letters, ensuring any payroll changes are sent to payroll in a timely manner.
to support the people director and people partner with the annual salary review.
conducting maternity risk assessments and confirming maternity/paternity leave entitlement.
responsible for running the employee comms forum.

essential criteria

3+ years working in an hr administrative/assistant capacity
working knowledge of hr practices and uk employment legislation.
competent using microsoft office suite (word, excel, powerpoint).
experience navigating and updating a hris.
excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize.
ability to work on own initiative and pro-active approach to problem solving.

desirable

knowledge of property management/facilities management.
experience supporting grievance and disciplinary meetings.
cipd accreditation.
