Part time live-in carer/pa - united kingdom, haywards heath, west sussex

live-in carer position to work a part -time 1 week on/ 3 week off rota, with training and holiday pay, from early september 2022.

i'm a 36 year old woman living in a town between brighton and london, with good train links. i have a spinal cord injury which means i need a full time live-in carer to assist me with daily tasks.

during your 1 week shift you will stay at my home, a spacious bungalow in your own double bedroom. i live with my partner and small dog, within a short walking distance to the town and train station.

duties of the role include personal care, cooking, some cleaning (we have a weekly cleaner who does the majority of this), driving, assisted transfers, attending me with social activities (it's important to me that people are happy to be around my friends and family sometimes). i work part time for a charity based in london. at the moment i'm working from home but when the pandemic allows i hope to return to the office one day a week. there will be a few hours during the day where you will have down time to yourself.

you will work on an employed basis at £1000 per week (before tax) with a contract. you will be entitled to paid holiday per year and statutory sick cover is available. you will also receive specialised training as part of the role. all accommodation and food (within reason) costs will be covered. travel costs can potentially be subsidised if travelling far.

the job has often worked well for people who prefer working a different pattern to the usual 9-5 / shift work or have other interests that they want to explore in their time off.

no previous experience in care is necessary but it is essential that you have a driving licence. being female is preferable due to the intimate nature of care work.

ideally looking for someone to start training in early september (which will be about 3 days paid training).
