about us:

we are seeking an experienced chef/cook who has a passion for using locally sourced ingredients to create inspiring seasonal and healthy dishes.

located in the iconic tron theatre on the trongate, set! cafe and bar is a new collaborative concept with a high quality, trail blazing drink and food offering. we are looking for a dedicated chef/cook looking to take a step up and run the kitchen. we are starting off slowly with our food offering to build a unique product. you will have a top of the range kitchen at your disposal to produce an exclusive menu developed by you.

job description

• responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen including ordering and stocktaking.

• preparing and serving some of the finest ingredients that scotland has to offer.

• creating innovative, exciting, seasonal new dishes and menus.

• overall responsibility for maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment and complying

with eho regulations.

• overall responsibility for ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen areas. • managing and training junior assistants.

desired experience and qualities.

you will have proven commercial kitchen experience with strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. you must also be able to work under your own supervision and take responsibility for your kitchen whilst also working as part of a team.

you will require the relevant food hygiene and safety qualifications.training can be provided for updated certification.

you will require a good understanding of working out gp’s.

wages and benefits

salary ranging from £11- £15ph based on experience.

working 5 days out of 7 and must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
