adecco has partnered with our client who is looking for an npi buyer for their hq in the metro detroit area.
a primary responsibility of this position is to ensure on-time launch for programs and delivery at or below target costs for piece price, tooling, etc. as well as work effectively with the project team to meet targets for quality, delivery and other cost areas.
core responsibilities: (not limited to)
work with engineering, commodity managers, supplier development engineers, program managers, to ensure supplier performance and deliverables are met and to identify cost and timing issues and resolve them.
update and accurately maintain databases for all new program launches.
ensure sourcing activity is in line with cost targets and purchasing processes .
facilitate cross-functional meeting including suppliers to improve program cost and delivery through design and development.
strategic evaluation of suppliers.
coordinate / lead efforts to identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
representative for purchasing in customer quote process, including bill of material cost development and quotes that are aligned with organizational targets.
requirements:
bachelor’s degree
5+ years of previous procurement experience in the automotive industry
