job title: session worker
location: larchfield community centre (tuesday); high street methodist church (thursday)
responsible to: operations manager
supervised by the session leader (family groups) specifically for the set up and running of the family group meetings
responsible for: supporting the session leader in providing support to the family group
hours: 12 hours over 2 days
main duties and responsibilities
provide support to the session leader as required, specifically help with set up and clear up after the sessions engage with the parents as appropriate support with the activities as agreed with the session leader help and support the volunteers in the session meet with the session leader after each meeting to review the meeting and how it has gone make and serve refreshments as appropriate
follow all re:charge procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding and data protection
support clients and signpost where relevant after discussion with the session leader and operations manager
keep all client’s situations confidential, only discussing them with the session leader and operations manager
join in staff meetings organised by the operations manager
ensure communication (verbal and written) with other members of the team remains courteous at all times
promote re:charge r&r and its enterprises, its work and services when required
getting involved in training as appropriate to enhance skills and as agreed with the operations manager
work in ways which reflect our value base as a charity which seeks to be open, honest and transparent
adhere to the health & safety policy
adhere to all re:charge r&r policies to carry out other tasks or duties necessary to ensure smooth running of the organisation
with the support of the operations manager, run the sessions according to agreed plans, in the absence of the session leader.

experience
have knowledge of the support and encouragement that families in difficult situations may need of working with the statutory sector of social care/ housing/ benefits confident in engaging with people from all works of life.
