job description: materials coordinator

materials coordinator will work closely with the buyer/planner and the operations team in the procurement and management of production parts, ensuring the accurate material is provided to our customer in a just-in-time lean manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:

responsible for inventory accuracy; physically performs and transacts cycle counts of materials, reconciles inaccurate counts with the appropriate support staff

identifies late orders and part shortages. maintains visual management of inbound orders

uses and audits the kanban ordering system

arranges stock efficiently and safely according to the fortive materials system

expedites internal material requirements, transferring inventory to multiple locations

ensures material is ready to deliver to production cells

performs materials transactions in oracle

fills in for materials strider as needed

qualifications:

requires a minimum of 2-4 years in a material handler or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

basic understanding of excel and erp system for data entry

experience working in lean, continuous improvement manufacturing environment preferred

knowledge of material replenishment and kanban execution preferred

oracle experience preferred
