in this role you will be required to:
review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. prepare analysis of accounts and provide advice to the manager and cfo as it relates to doubtful charges
match invoices with purchase orders, where applicable, and evidence of receipt of goods or services
assist with external auditors’ requests as necessary
prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks
balances and maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
reconcile internal credit cards
assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget
assists in monthly closings
answers all vendor inquiries
supervise tagging of fixed assets
receive documentation for disposal of fixed assets
conduct fixed assets inventory on a periodic basis
prepare or assist in preparing reports or tax returns required by state or federal agencies
assists corporate financial officers and department personnel as necessary
candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered this role:
degree in accounting preferred. a minimum of five years’ experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
ability to apply bookkeeping and accounting principles to the maintenance of accounts payable and finance records
knowledge and ability to place a high emphasis and maintain controls surrounding financial reporting as pertains to gaap (generally accepted accounting procedures)
ability to exercise good judgment; makes decisions in logical and rational manner; demonstrates “common sense", practical and stays calm under pressure.
experience working with great plains or solomon financial software desired.
advanced computer skills in microsoft office, specifically microsoft excel.
ability to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports.
ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
ability to work with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization promptly and professionally
excellent written and oral communication skills
ability to multitask, adapt to and operate in a fast-paced, changing environment.
