our client, a large successful company in halesowen have a temp to permanent requirement for an experienced purchaser to start in january.
the primary function of the purchaser is to:
process planned purchase orders in accordance with client / company requirements and obtain prices to assist sales.
ensure that delivery dates are met
communicate to suppliers and internally as required.
update all internal systems and deal with supplier documentation
report to management, production, and sales on the status of the orders that are raised.
work with production to utilise stock where possible
other duties to include
processing planned purchase orders in accordance with client / company requirements
checking for required drawings and specs to send with rfqs / pos
receive quotes against rfqs - enter into ax and convert to p/order
regular updates to customers and management on order status
co-ordinating with internal departments to progress orders
liaising with external suppliers to progress sub orders
placing purchase orders for materials on trelleborg group companies and managing order status
raise orders for consumables - e.g. cromwell, energas, stationery
receive ncrs from qc and action with suppliers. raise returned p/orders when necessary
complete credit applications for new accounts/vendors
complete payment request for pro forma invoices
chase open orders - run open order report
set up new items/combination
receive and check off order acknowledgments, update confirmed date in ax
obtain missing paperwork (delivery notes, test certs) for goods inwards & report any discrepancies with supplier
assisting / working alongside the production department
the right candidate must:
hold relevant purchasing experience
be fully business aware and confident to make decisions
be a strong problem solver able to build relationships
confident order processor with admin skills
hours 4/5 days per week to suit candidate
salary up to gbp24,500pa
immediate start for the right person - temp for 6 months with a view to become a permanent member of the team after this period
