House keeper for coworking / coliving hotel near beach. accommodation and salary - training given. - united kingdom, blackpool, lancashire

the work - it’s a live-in role. organising events, dinners, trips out to the theatre and posting all the fun on our instagram. being around to help out and keep the community vibe is the main thing, making people want to stay longer than they booked for. 1 hour a day of cleaning, maybe 5 check-in/room turners a month. offering clean sheets once a week + hotel and guest laundry. one or two washes a day max. all bookings, payments, and vetting guests are all managed by the owner. zero admin apart from petty cash.

location - restored 4-story victorian house built in 1897. 3 minutes from the beach. 15 minutes from great supermarkets and all that is happening in the party town of blackpool in north west england. lake district, manchester and liverpool are all 1 hr 15 mins away. london 3hr 20mins by train.

what you get - £900 a month. £400 taken off for your own private room with sink. £250 a month if more than 9 guests out of a max of 15 staying (this is the norm). £250 a month if the owner is away (not the norm). £2.50 for each service wash you do for guests. potential earnings when busy & owner away before paying for accommodation is £1, 500 + . you also get managerial training/experience working in this new coworking / coliving industry that is booming all over the world and will be for many years to come. it is much easier to work in than a hostel - no daily changeovers or loud drunk guests.

what we are looking for in you - enthusiasm & social skills are the most important thing. you need to want to do this work and keep the guests happy. you must be tidy and presentable at all times when with guests. a passion and understanding of the work & travel, digital nomad, and hostel space are helpful. you don't need to speak really good english but enough to understand and be understood. it's a smaller part of the work, but you do need to be able to mop a floor, empty the bins once a week & change beds etc. this is a long-term position so you should be wanting to stay at least 6 months to a year. opportunities to run our place in egypt and a bigger offering in the uk that is coming next year hopefully are also available.

does this sound like an exciting opportunity for you? this can be a lot more than a gap year job - this can be the beginning of a new career for you in a dynamic new area of hospitality. if you think this role is for you and you have what it takes - apply for this work placement today to info@somewheredifferent.com or through the working traveller service (link below) and let's make it happen :)
