fawkes & reece are representing a main contractor who seeks to appoint an assistant quantity surveyor to work along side a senior quantity surveyor in their commercial team.
this is a fantastic opportunity for an assistant quantity surveyor to work for a market leading main contractor and develop their career working on a range of sites in the yorkshire region. as an assistant quantity surveyor you will assist the senior quantity surveyor's and will be responsible for assisting in the management of income on contracts allocated to you and your team by increasing profits by good surveying practice.
duties will include:
take off
on-site measures
monthly valuations
record and price variations
reconcile cost/value reports
subcontractor payments
pricing tenders
assisting with final accounts
you are required to have excellent commercial awareness.
you must be degree qualified or equivalent or studying for your degree and it is desirable that you have previous experience in the new build or refurbishment sector. a valid cscs card would be an advantage. in addition, you will be methodical, technically minded and be an effective communicator with the ability to work in a team environment.
the salary on offer is negotiable depending on experience and will range from £30,000-£35,000 pa plus an attractive company package.
