fawkes and reece are currently assisting in the search for a senior quantity surveyor to join a regional main contractor on an exciting project in selsey. you will be based out of their whiteley office, but running a £10mil new build care home scheme near chichester, which is on a jct form of contract. the contractor is one which works across the education, care home, leisure and residential sectors, with projects typically valuing up to £30mil. you will act as commercial lead, reporting into the commercial manager.

as senior quantity surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to:

pre-contract:

attending pre-commencement / pre-contract meetingsattend meetings regarding all financial control procedures associated with the design development to ensure the recording of perceived risks and opportunities in the bid as required.

post contract:

financial reporting and controlcontinually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.commercial forecastingensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.attend regular review and commercial control meetings.liaise closely with the design and project management leads to ensure cross controlmanagement of riskmanagement of contract variationscontract review and production meetingsmain contract and external valuations and final accountsmanagement of consultants and subcontractorsfeedback to the commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.provide constructive comments on improving efficiency

the ideal senior quantity surveyor will have:

a construction related degree/equivalent qualificationexperience as commercial lead within a main contractorcommutable location to selsey (near chichester)right to work in the uk
