we are looking to hire an experienced live in male carer for our 84yr old father with alzheimer’s. you will have your own double bedroom and bathroom in a two bedroom flat, parking for a car, all meals whilst working and within 5 minutes walk to wimbledon town centre. you will have every weekend free.
you must have experience working with elderly male patients and a lot of alzheimer’s care experience too (including help with bathing, dressing, and general mobility). english fluency is also essential due to his communication skills which are diminished from the dementia. you will need to have a positive, outgoing personality, with a can-do attitude and a calm demeanour. an interest in nutrition and cooking, music and the arts would also be beneficial.
you would need to work from 6pm sunday evening to 4pm friday afternoon. working hours will fall between 8am-9pm - no night cover is required at this stage. weekends are free as this would be covered by agency carers.
to start asap. salary in the region of £30,000pa gross dependant on experience + 25 days holiday. you will have full use of all the flats amenities, a shopping card and the support of a close knit family.
