position: mail clerk/courier driver

starting pay: $16.00 per hour

hours: 8:30am-4:00pm

schedule: monday-friday

summary:

this role involves driving a company car (toyota scion) when backing up the courier driver. it also includes picking up mail from various areas in the building and post office when assisting with backing up the mail clerk.

drives a company truck/van/car to transport customer records and interoffice mail to and from their offices, interacting with customers, and loading and unloading boxes/packages. 

classifies, stores, retrieves, and updates generated information.

essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

retrieve and deliver interoffice and usps mail to various buncombe county department locations.

operate the company vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws and company requirements.

adhere firmly to delivery/pickup routes, dates and times.

identify and communicate courier service challenges to site manager.

interact with clients and personnel in a professional and courteous manner.

valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.

adhere to hipaa standards and guidelines.

qualifications:

high school diploma or ged; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

multiple trips on a daily basis to client sites within buncombe county. 

the employee must regularly lift and/or move 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50. pounds.
