Stable yard worker - united kingdom, chipping norton, oxfordshire
this job would suit someone who is happy to work independently, fit to carry out manual work outside in all weathers and is very proactive :-)
no horse experience necessary as long as you are happy to enter a field or pen with them.
we are looking to cover the following days - monday, tuesday , wednesday , thursday , saturday and sunday
4-6 hours a day in the mornings - hours can be negotiable
could be a job share or just a few days a week.
basically days / times all up for negotiation.
jobs include - ( tasks change from winter to summer)
⁃ hay the horses am wherever they are! ( they have ad-lib hay so it’s filling up hay boxes and mangers - no haynets)
⁃ skip out any sand pens that are being used - there can be up to 20 on sometimes in the winter these are hard standing turnout pens with rubber mats. we use a small tractor and trailer to slip out the pens.
⁃ skip out any stables with sand pens
- mending any broken rails
- poo hoovering
- pushing back the muck heap using a tractor ( training given)
- grass cutting, strimming and general tidying .
salary: from £13.00 per hour
